YORKSHIRE YOUTH CHOIR   The Yorkshire Youth Choir was formed by NOEL in 2002, thanks to a generous grant from the National Foundation for Youth Music. Highly successful residential courses have been held at various venues in Yorkshire. The choir have also recorded CD’s and DVD’s of their work.

The Choir (of mixed voices) meets for residential courses twice a year and for singing workshops and concerts. The choir has a wide repertoire amd makes a feature of studying different styles by inviting leading choral conductors as guests to cover Jazz, Gospel, African, Theatre etc.

The singers become one big family and help and guide one another. They come together through music but form special friendship bonds, led by specialist tutors and cared for by a dedicated team of adults.

Annual Auditions are held in January/February and May/June. Potential and enthusiasm are as important as experience, but good musicianship skills are an advantage.

Working with experienced choral tutors, under the artistic direction of John Pryce-Jones, the choir serves as a valuable training ground to support Yorkshire's important choral heritage.
