Yorkshire Youth Choir

The choir was formed in 2002 with the help of a substantial grant from Youth Music. The choir has over 160 members who meet twice a year at residential courses within the region, and for various singing workshops and concerts throughout the year.

They not only experience a varied programme of singing tuition from experts in differing genres but also develop socially, making potentially life-long friendships throughout Yorkshire based around music.

Auditions for the YYC are held twice a year and are open to any singers living or studying in Yorkshire aged 10-21 years; we look for singers with potential and enthusiasm as much as experience! Details regarding auditions and courses are sent to current members and Yorkshire schools throughout the year with forms available to download from this website.

About NOEL

Northern Orchestral Enterprises Ltd (NOEL) is a non-profit organisation committed to providing music-based activities and opportunities for all to enjoy and appreciate, whatever their age or level. Formed in 1996 by John Pryce-Jones & Barry Collarbone and based at Dean Clough in Halifax, NOEL is passionate about music as a unique form of communication with intellectual, social and physical benefits!

Our projects, run on the principles taught by Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály, include a series of workshops to help teachers and musicians bring this accessible and enjoyable form of methodology into their classrooms, choirs and communities.

NOEL is reliant on funding from an annual, but by no means guaranteed, grant from West Yorkshire Grants as well as a matrix of sponsorship and donations from the business community, private trusts and charities.
