NOEL offers a range of workshops for music practitioners and teachers based on the principles taught by Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály, with the aim of bringing his accessible and enjoyable form of methodology into their classrooms, choirs and communities.

Northern Orchestral Enterprises Ltd (NOEL) is a non-profit organisation committed to providing music-based activities and opportunities for all to enjoy and appreciate, whatever their age or level. Formed in 1996 by John Pryce-Jones & Barry Collarbone and based at Dean Clough in Halifax, NOEL is passionate about music as a unique form of communication with intellectual, social and physical benefits!
Our projects, run on the principles taught by Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály, include a series of workshops to help teachers and musicians bring this accessible and enjoyable form of methodology into their classrooms, choirs and communities.
NOEL is reliant on funding from an annual, but by no means guaranteed, grant from West Yorkshire Grants as well as a matrix of sponsorship and donations from the business community, private trusts and charities.
