What is the Yorkshire Youth Choir?
YYC Auditions
Auditions take place January and May each year. You will be advised the date, time and venue on receipt of the completed form which is available to download. Next auditions are 19th May at Northern Ballet in Leeds to secure a place send in your form now!
YYC Spring 2013 Residential Course
A fantastic course this Spring – and an amazing concert! Well done to everyone who attended and a special thank you to the course mentors who rose to the occasion with some brilliant social activities. The YYC family continues to grow from strength to strength.
A concert CD, a photo CD and the group photo will be available soon – download the order form.
YYC Summer 2013 Residential Course
The YYC Summer Residential Course 2013 at Queen Ethelburga’s College, York runs from Monday 19th August until Saturday 24th August with the concert taking place at Dewsbury Town Hall 7.30pm 24th August. The Summer Course Booking Form is available to download. Applicants must be YYC members or must apply for an audition – see above to download an audition form.
Any girls needing a new concert blouse or skirt? Orders must be received before 1st July. The concert dress order form is available to download. Boys can order a tie by sending £12 to the office NOEL, E128, Dean Clough, Halifax HX3 5AX
Limited part bursaries are available subject to status; the application form is available to download.

Future Heroes Awards 2012-2013
The deadline is now closed for 2012-2013.
The Future Heroes Spring Celebration Showcase takes place on Wednesday 13 March – 7.30pm at Carlton United Reform Church, Carlton Terrace, Halifax HX1 2PF – everyone is welcome to a free concert involving talented young musicians from Calderdale. You will be astounded!
The next round of auditions will take place in the Autumn term for 2013-2014.

The audience at the Victoria Theatre braved the cold weather in December to share in the grandeur and wonder of Handel’s Messiah. This unique oratorio, performed annaully by the HCS since 1818, was as well received as ever!
The next concert takes place Sunday 24th March, Victoria Theatre, Halifax at 4pm. Bruckner – Mass in E Minor, Stravinsky – Symphony of Psalms, Handel – Music for the Royal Fireworks. Contact the Victoria Theatre Box Office 01422 351158 for tickets

Leeds Lieder + takes place in October this year – watch this space for details of projects including Cool Lieder for secondary schools and Songwriting for Primary Schools – the final performance will take place on Friday 11 October at West Yorkshire Play House – sorry but this project is for Leeds based schools only, but if you are interested we may be able to extend the workshops in your area!
